UPMC for Life Medicare Members Can Better Navigate Health Plan Tools with Help from New UPMC Health Plan Tech Guides

Updated on February 15, 2023

UPMC for Life Medicare members with questions about how to use in-network virtual health tools, including RxWell, can consult with UPMC Health Plan Tech Guides at Feb. 18 launch events to be held at UPMC Health Plan Connect Center retail stores across the Commonwealth.

The UPMC Health Plan Tech Guides will be available at UPMC Health Plan Connect Center retail stores throughout the state on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to meet, to discuss free digital tools and to offer personal assistance with digital health care needs. View the full list of locations here. Appointments are not necessary but may be made by calling at 1-833-685-5418 (TTY: 711) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or may be scheduled online at upmchp.us/tech-appointment.

“Health care technology tools and applications can be convenient and even game-changing to our Medicare members, but only if they are comfortable using them,” said Anne Palmerine, Vice President, Customer Engagement & Enrollment, UPMC Health Plan. “Our new Health Plan Tech Guides are here to ensure members can comfortably navigate online tools and services, from UPMC AnywhereCare telehealth care to managing personalized benefits through MyHealth OnLine.”

UPMC Health Plan Tech Guides can provide basic troubleshooting assistance for commonly used features on personal devices. These include learning how to unlock devices, download health apps, set up email and manage calendar appointments. The guides will also provide individualized assistance to make sure each tool is set up based on a member’s specific needs and will help members build the skills needed to use these resources independently. These convenient and easy-to-use tools include:

  • The free UPMC Health Plan app, where members can access benefits and coverage information.
  • MyHealth OnLine, where members can search for in network providers and pharmacies, chat with a health coach or Health Care Concierge, access cost calculators, and use other health and wellness resources.
  • RxWell, a cutting-edge mobile app to help address stress, anxiety, weight management, and other behavioral health issues. It not only offers real-time coping techniques to users but is also enhanced with personal health coaching to aid improvement.
  • Other supports, including the UPMC Health Plan Find Care online provider search tool.

“I encourage each interested UPMC for Life member to take advantage of our launch events and make sure you are able to use your personal devices and the full suite of UPMC Health Plan’s virtual resources,” said Palmerine. “It’s a great way to learn not only about the many digital tools that can support good health, but to also make sure you are able to use them.”
