U.S. News & World Report Recognizes 12 IntegraCare Communities as ‘Best’ Assisted Living, Memory Care

Updated on June 10, 2022

Twelve IntegraCare senior living communities recently received recognition from U.S. News & World Report as either Best of Assisted Living or Best of Memory Care status in 2022-23.

Five of those communities received “Best of” in both categories

“What families and residents want most when they move to a senior living community is quality of care and quality of life,” said Larry Rouvelas, CEO of IntegraCare, which is based in Pittsburgh and operates 18 senior communities in three states. “Even in the face of COVID-19 and staffing challenges, the leadership and team members at our communities deliver on both every single day.  We are proud to have earned this recognition from U.S. News & World Report.”

The IntegraCare communities achieved the highest possible rating in their respective categories. U.S. News awards the designation of Best Senior Living only to those communities that satisfy U.S. News’s objective statistical assessment of each senior living community’s performance from consumer satisfaction surveys administered between March 2021 and February 2022, reflecting the viewpoints of more than 200,000 current residents and family members of residents living in thousands of senior living communities nationwide.

“The results of this year-long survey are a testament to all the hard work that team members have put in and it is also a testament to the respect they have earned from the residents and their families for the hard work they are doing,” Rouvelas said.

The inaugural U.S. News Best Senior Living ratings and profiles offer comprehensive information and exclusive analysis of consumer satisfaction data evaluating such factors as community and activity; food and dining; caregiving; and management and staff for nearly 2,500 communities in the continental U.S. and Hawaii.

“Until now, families have had limited information when comparing providers of independent living, assisted living, memory care or continuing care,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News. “The Best Senior Living ratings fill this informational gap with comprehensive and transparent data to help older consumers and their families identify high-quality senior living communities that meet their needs and preferences.”

The IntegraCare communities recognized by U.S. News & World Report included:

  • Bay Village, Annapolis, Maryland (Best of Memory Care)
  • Candle Light Cove, Easton, Maryland (Best of Assisted Living)
  • Colonial Courtyard at Bedford, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living)
  • Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living)
  • Exton Senior Living, Exton, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living)
  • Magnolias of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living; Best of Memory Care)
  • Magnolias of Lancaster, Pennsylvania (Best of Memory Care)
  • Newhaven Court at Lindwood, Greensburg, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living; Best of Memory Care)
  • Newhaven Court at Clearview, Butler, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living; Best of Memory Care)
  • Queenstown Landing, Queenstown, Maryland (Best of Assisted Living; Best of Memory Care)
  • The Pines of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living)
  • The Woods at Cedar Run, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania (Best of Assisted Living; Best of Memory Care)

“This recognition brings an enormous sense of pride in our dedicated team and their tireless commitment to genuinely improve the lives of the Seniors we serve,” said Kristine Wenrick, Executive Operations Officer at Magnolias of Chambersburg. “This caring culture helps lay the foundation for a community that ‘reaches beyond its walls,’ giving local families a desirable option for senior housing.”

The “Best of” status had even greater significance to the team members at the senior communities because of the challenges since the outset of a global pandemic.

“Over the last two years with COVID it’s been a real challenge to take care of people in communities, but it is a challenge we embraced,” said Janet Torregrosso, Executive Operations Officer at The Pines of Mount Lebanon. “To know that the families and residents had the trust and faith in us during that time to recognize us in this way is just overwhelming. The team has done just a fantastic job trying to make everything be normal in a ‘not normal’ time. This recognition shows that we have been very successful in that goal.”

“This recognition from U.S. News & World Report validates the hard work and dedication of the team that we have,” said Robert Scheele, Executive Operations Officer at Candle Light Cove. “The sacrifices they make each and every day aren’t always easy, but they are dedicated to our residents and their families.”
