This year, the seventh annual McGinley-Rice Symposium, Exploring Social Justice for Vulnerable Populations: The Face of the Person with a Disability, at Duquesne University looks at disability through the eyes of the person with a disability. Clinicians, researchers and educators will participate in lectures, panel discussions, dialogue sessions and networking, specifically relating to:

  • Examining multiple facets of disability through the eyes of the person with a disability;
  • Discussing how physical, mental and emotional disabilities cross all age, race, gender, religious and socio-economic boundaries;
  • Identifying and considering a variety of approaches for better serving and empowering this growing population.
