Genesis Koman & Kimmell Family Practice recently extended its Saturday and evening hours to accommodate patients.

“We have been considering this for some time,” noted Nicholas Grimm, practice director for the Ross Township Genesis office.

“Our nurse practitioners – Stacey L. Allen and Janelle C. Heine,” said Grimm, “will play a key role in our Monday through Friday hours extension from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. while Doctors Christopher Koman and Joseph Kimmell will be available on the first and third Saturdays each month in the hours from 9 a.m. until noon.”

Allen, a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), with a Master of Science degree from Clarion University and a BS in Nursing from Waynesburg College, has experience in Post Acute Care, and Specialty Experience in Intensive Care, Intermediate Care and Telemetry.

A member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, Allen held a number of positions at UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital in Aspinwall before joining Genesis and continues to serve as a Nursing Instructor at Waynesburg University’s Monroeville campus.  She resides with her family in Tarentum, PA.

Heine holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA, with a Family Nurse Practitioner Concentration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She spent the past 7 years as a staff nurse at Allegheny Health Network’s Allegheny General Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit on Pittsburgh’s North Side.  A resident of Ross Township, Heine while at Allegheny General was specially trained in the care of cardiac, thoracic, vascular and solid organ transplant patients.

Genesis Medical Associates, Inc. is the largest independent primary care physicians group serving the Greater North Hills with 11 offices extending from Reserve Township north to Cranberry Township in Butler County.  Genesis has achieved Level 3 recognition as a ‘patient centered medical home’ from the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA).
