Throughout my medical career, I have integrated patient care with research, and now, as the Medical Director at QC Kinetix, I continue this integration. By overseeing the evolution of QC Kinetix into an Evidence-Based Regenerative Medicine Practice, we are leading scientific trends and emerging technologies. This involves integrating our vendors into our instructional programs and co-authoring scientific manuscripts to contribute to the field’s body of knowledge.

Eighteen years ago, I became involved in Evidence-Based Regenerative Medicine by monitoring and studying the outcomes of my work. My response to less-than-optimal outcomes was to update treatment protocols. When something doesn’t work, it is crucial to publish findings that indicate continued usage is not supported, ensuring the medical community learns and adapts from these experiences.

Starting a new project involves recruiting a team of experts, of which there are many within the QC Corporate and Franchise structure. The next step is to gather a consensus and proceed based on collective expertise and shared goals. This collaborative approach ensures that projects are grounded in a broad base of knowledge and experience, maximizing the potential for success.

During my 37 years as a joint replacement surgeon, technological changes and advances were constant. To stay current, I continuously engaged in educational opportunities within my field. This proactive approach to learning allowed me to become a leader in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery and navigated joint replacement, demonstrating the importance of lifelong learning in maintaining professional expertise.
What people in your life or career have had the greatest impact on you? How?
Undoubtedly, my parents and my wife have had a significant impact on me. I have also learned much from my children and now from my grandchildren. In my professional life, several wonderful leaders in orthopedic surgery influenced me during my residency. Interestingly, I continue to be influenced by thought leaders at QC Kinetix, highlighting that life is an ongoing learning curve.

Family plays a crucial role in my success, especially my “Queen Wife” (QW), who has been a constant source of support. Additionally, my ongoing drive to contribute to the field and excel in my endeavors has been a significant factor in my professional achievements. What is the one book that you recommend everyone should read and why?
There are countless books I could recommend, but most recently, I suggest “A Calamity of Souls” by David Baldacci. Although it is not a work of historical non-fiction, it offers valuable insights into the divisions in our country today, providing readers with a deeper understanding of current societal challenges.
