Psychiatrist Featured in Monongahela Valley Hospital’s Innovations Lecture Series

Updated on June 23, 2013

Cold temperatures and less daylight can definitely make us grumpy about winter, but for many, “being down” or “feeling blue” every fall and winter could be more than simple discontentment with the climate.

Join Monongahela Valley Hospital’s new psychiatrist Amanda M. Rush, M.D., when she discusses depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) at MVH’s free community Innovations in Medicine lecture series in February and March.

Innovations features MVH physicians presenting free seminars to educate our residents about important health care issues.

Dr. Rush will discuss SAD on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the hospital’s Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. She will repeat this Innovations presentation on Thursday, March 1, at the Mon-Vale HealthPLEX at WillowPointe Plaza on Route 51 in Rostraver.

Both Innovations programs are free and begin at 6 p.m.; parking is also free and light refreshments will be served. Reservations are required by calling 724-258-1333.

Trained in adult and child psychiatry, Dr. Rush sees patients at Psychiatric Care Systems, PC, at 1164 Country Club Road, Monongahela. She is accepting new patients ages 3 and older by calling 724-258-8014.

Dr. Rush will also see new patients in the Psychiatric Care Systems offices at 640 Jefferson Ave., Washington, Pa., 724-222-6603, and at 110 Hidden Valley Road, McMurray, Pa., 724-941-4070.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Rush joined the MVH staff in August 2011
