The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania (NFP) has selected Elizabeth (Betsy) A. Walls, MSN, MBA, RN, to lead the Foundation as its president beginning January 1, 2013. A supporting organization of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), NFP’s mission is to ensure nurses for tomorrow with a vision to be the premier charitable organization for professional nurses in the Commonwealth.

Walls currently serves as Chester County Health Department’s bureau director for personal health services. A member of PSNA since 1963, she has served six years as PSNA past-president and was a PSNA director during the establishment of NFP in 1983.

“It is a privilege to serve as president of NFP as we promote the future of nursing,” said Walls. “I was also president of PSNA as it evolved into a proactive organization serving thousands of Pennsylvania nurses. I am confident NFP will continue its forward momentum to a very bright future.”

The NFP supports charitable, educational and research ventures that improve health and advance the nursing profession. The official registration and financial information of the NFP may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll-free within Pennsylvania, 800-732-0999.  Registration does not imply endorsement. www.thenfp.org
