Sharon Regional Medical Center and Steward Medical Group recently welcomed the practice of Lawrence County Family Medicine to the Steward Health Care System. The physicians include Lawrence Fazioli, MD, and David Shober, DO, who have practiced in the area for 26 years. They bring combined expertise in all areas of family medicine and offer high-quality care for patients in the New Castle and surrounding communities.
“Lawrence County is an important part of our efforts to meet the changing health care needs,” stated Joseph Hugar, President of Sharon Regional Medical Center. “The addition of the Lawrence County Family Medicine practice to our expanding network is testament to the success of Steward’s integrated care model which is to improve the health of residents in the areas we serve.”
Drs. Fazioli and Shober will continue their affiliation with Sharon Regional. The hospital has recently received numerous quality awards and distinctions, including accreditation as a Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, Blue Cross Distinction Center + for Maternity Care, and the Platinum Performance Achievement award for heart attack care for 5 consecutive years.
“Joining Steward Medical Group is an exciting next chapter for our practice,” said Dr. Fazioli. “The access to the quality of care Steward’s model provides will benefit all who entrust their care to our group. With a focus on preventative medicine and wellness, as well as state-of-the-art technology and world-class specialists, our patients will have expanded resources to help improve and ensure their overall health.”
Steward Medical Group is a dynamic and growing physician-led multispecialty practice group that is a key part of Steward Health Care, the largest private hospital operator in the United States. The medical group operates practices in 11 states, including Pennsylvania and Ohio, with both primary care and specialties ranging from Women’s Health to Advanced Cardiac Surgery.
“We are proud to welcome the physicians of Lawrence County Family Medicine to Steward Medical Group,” said Sanjay Shetty, MD, MBA, President of the medical group. “Local area physicians believe in our patient-centric approach which focuses on achieving the highest possible quality at an affordable price, and providing the best health care to our patients in a setting close to home.”
“This agreement marks a significant benefit for Lawrence County community members who seek health care services across the region. We believe that offering choices in the market and opening up access for patients is important,” continued Hugar. “For example, individuals and families with UPMC Health Plan have in-network access to services available at Sharon Regional Medical Center as well as our outpatient diagnostic services. Lawrence County Family Medicine’s office will continue to contract with UPMC Health Plan, Highmark Blue Cross, as well as most major health insurers.”
The practice has two convenient locations. The main office is located at 2520 Wilmington Road, New Castle and their second office is at 605 Mt. Jackson Road, New Castle.
Additionally, Sharon Regional recently announced plans to open a new state-of-the-art health center in the fall. The 14,000 square foot facility, the Sharon Regional Outpatient Health and Diagnostic Center, will be located in the former Aldi’s store at 2715 Wilmington Road in Neshannock Township. An open house will be announced for the community.
