Updated on February 19, 2014

Penn State Greater Allegheny is offering Nursing Home Administrator training. The campus has been registered and approved as a training institution by the Department of Public Welfare for purposes of Chapter 2600. Its 120-hour, standardized, department-approved curriculum for nursing home administrators provides the core program required for individuals interested in receiving licensure. In addition, the courses can satisfy PA State Nurses Association Contact Hours.

Prior to employment as an administrator, a candidate must successfully complete a 120-hour training course. Current administrators must complete 48 credit hours of continuing education approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators or the National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB) and renew their licenses bi-annually. Continuing education is required for license renewal.

Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.on Thursdays and Fridays, March 13 through May 2.
