Dennis P. Brenckle Named to Highmark Health’s Board of Directors

Highmark Health announced today that Dennis P. Brenckle has been named to its board of directors effective immediately.

Brenckle is the retired president of PNC Bank’s Central Pennsylvania Region, where his career spanned 40 years, culminating in his 13-year role as president.  Brenckle is also chair of the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s board of directors, where he led its highly successful “For the Future” campaign that raised nearly $307 million to support patient care, education, research and community outreach.

He has also held leadership positions with the center’s Four Diamonds Advisory Board and Cancer Institute Advisory Board.

“Dennis Brenckle brings the Highmark Health board extensive experience in health care and community leadership, as well as banking,” stated Joseph Guyaux, chairman of the board of Highmark Health. “As Highmark Health and Penn State Health pursue their long-term strategic partnership, Dennis’ knowledge and insight will be invaluable to a successful collaboration that continues to deliver high-quality, patient-focused community care that is unsurpassed in service and quality.”

Brenckle has served on boards for the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg; the PA Partnership for Culture, Health and Education also known as Très Bonne Année; the Harrisburg Area YMCA; the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and the Capital Regional Economic Development Corporation.

A resident of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Brenckle is a graduate of Duquesne University and the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University.
