Conference: Nurse Leaders’ Challenge—Embracing Technology Without Losing the Art of Patient Care

Updated on July 20, 2012

Here’s another great conference we were recently made aware of: The Southwestern Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders 33nd Annual Education Conference, Nurse Leader’s Challenge: Embracing Technology without Losing the Art of Patient Care.

August 30-31
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa

Today’s complex healthcare environment has created a challenging yet exciting opportunity for nurse leaders. The IOM Future of Nursing report emphasizes that the United States has the opportunity to transform its healthcare system, and nurses can and should play a fundamental role in this transformation. This transformation will require that nurses embrace technology as a necessary tool to innovate the delivery of nursing care. Nurses must take on this leadership role to improve safety and efficiency, bring evidence for decision making to the point of care, and empower patients to be involved partners. Together we must respond to the challenges that technology brings to advance nursing’s role in leading change and advancing health.
