Conemaugh Welcomes Back Dr. James Tretter

Board certified vascular surgeon Dr. James Tretter has returned to Conemaugh Physician Group- Vascular Surgery and is now joining the Vascular Surgery team at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Dr. Tretter spent the past year and a half as Medical Director of Vascular Services and Endovascular Therapy at Valley Health in Winchester, Virginia. “I have great confidence in the Heart and Vascular program at Conemaugh,” says Dr. Tretter. “I am glad to be back and look forward to being part of the team to help improve the vascular health of patients in the region.”

After graduating from Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Tretter earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Conemaugh Memorial before achieving a specialty training Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. After completing his formal training, he served four years in the United States Army as Division Chief of Vascular Surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center.

Board certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery, Dr. Tretter specializes in comprehensive vascular care for both inpatients and outpatients including endovascular surgery which offers patients a less invasive procedure for treating problems affecting blood vessels.

Dr. Tretter and his wife Colleen live in Somerset County and are the proud parents of four sons.
