The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center Appoints New Director of Medical Affairs

Amy UrbanThe Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center recently appointed Amy Urban, D.O., M.P.H. as the Director of Medical Affairs of the Medical Executive Committee.

“The appointment of Dr. Urban demonstrates The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh’s continued commitment to the health and well-being of infants and children,” said Pamela Schanwald, Chief Executive Office.  “Dr. Urban will act as a medical advisor and consultant for the Pediatric Specialty Hospital, as well as serve as Credentials Chair for all the physicians on staff at the Pediatric Specialty Hospital.  Her experience and knowledge will enable us to continue to offer high-quality medical care to the medically fragile children served at The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh.”

Dr. Urban has been a physician on medical staff at the Pediatric Specialty Hospital since 2011 and is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in neonatal and perinatal medicine. She practices clinically at both Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and holds a dual appointment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as Assistant Professor in both the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences and the Department of Pediatrics – Division of Newborn Medicine. Dr. Urban earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of New York Institute of Technology. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital and her fellowship in Newborn Medicine at UPMC.
