Allegheny Health Network’s Saint Vincent Hospital Holds Souper Bowl Challenge

Updated on February 11, 2023

Sales doubled as customers got their game on during Cura’s Souper Bowl Challenge which was held at Allegheny Health Network’s Saint Vincent Hospital (SVH) in Erie, PA.

In celebration of National Soup Month (held in January), the hospital started the promotion on January 23rd prior to the NFL Championship Game!  Hospital staff submitted their favorite soup recipes to Cura staff who sold 94 Souper Bowl tickets to customers who participated during the first day of this weeklong promo.

For $2, customers received two four-ounce portions of the featured soups, a fountain beverage, and a chance to vote for their favorite soup via a QR code – all soups homemade by Cura Hospitality Lead Cook Jennifer Ciotti. Customers enjoyed everything from pizza and pepper soups to black bean soup or the easy chicken tortilla!  The winning soup was the Dill Pickle Soup submitted by Domenica Babo, MS, RDN, LDN and SVH Healthy Food Center Manager, which she obtained from the Noble Pig.
