The Cole Memorial Medical Group welcomes obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/Gyn) Ahmad Awada, MD, to the Women’s Health Center located in the hospital’s Irwin Medical Arts Center at 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport. He began accepting new patients on February 8.
Dr. Awada joins Cole Memorial’s current OB/Gyn Mazen Fouany, MD, his colleague and past class-mate at George Washington University’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Washington, DC.
“I’ve worked with Dr. Awada for several years in the Washington, DC area and he’s wonderful, knowledgeable, caring and a great surgeon,” stated Mazen Fouany, MD, recipient of 2015 Top Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynecology from the Leading Physicians of the World a subsidiary of the International Association of HealthCare Professionals. “I’m glad he is joining Cole Memorial as he’s a great addition to our medical staff.”
Dr. Awada received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut before completing his OB/GYN residency at the George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC) where he won multiple awards in recognition for his medical knowledge and surgical skills including laparoscopy. In addition, Dr. Awada worked at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The Women’s Health Center is a highly-skilled medical profession which provides a full-range of services, such as: general and high risk obstetrics; general gynecology; fibroids, endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome management; management of abnormal Pap tests; gynecological surgery with a specialization in laparoscopic procedures; treatment of pelvic floor prolapse and urinary incontinence; pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction management; contraception; well-woman exams and menopausal care.
