Lifeline Physical Therapy & Pulmonary Rehab has introduced a new Virtual Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program to make lung rehabilitation more accessible for patients across Pennsylvania — particularly those in rural communities or managing chronic lung conditions that limit travel.
Built on more than two decades of pulmonary rehabilitation experience, the program connects licensed physical and respiratory therapists with patients through an easy-to-use text- or email-based platform. Over a 9-week curriculum, participants learn breathing and endurance techniques through video-guided exercises, weekly check-ins, and educational lessons, all supported remotely by Lifeline’s care team.
“We’ve seen how powerful pulmonary rehab can be for patients with COPD and other chronic lung conditions, but too many people aren’t able to access it due to travel challenges or limited availability in their area,” said Dr. Chris Brehm, DPT, CEO of Lifeline Physical Therapy & Pulmonary Rehab. “Our virtual program removes those barriers while helping patients avoid hospital readmissions and reduce healthcare costs. It’s about improving quality of life—and quality of care—across the board.”
The Virtual Pulmonary Rehab Program includes:
- A 9-week, evidence-based rehabilitation plan
- 27 video-guided exercises and educational lessons
- 1-on-1 communication with licensed respiratory or physical therapists
- Weekly check-ins and progress tracking
- Optional printed materials mailed to participants for guidance
This program is available to Pennsylvania and West Virginia residents managing chronic lung conditions such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, long-haul COVID, and other respiratory challenges. Patients can enroll directly or through referrals from healthcare providers.
During the month of November, in conjunction with National COPD Awareness month, the program is available at an introductory rate of only $49, which includes two 30-minute virtual sessions with licensed therapists, educational lessons, and progress tracking over 9 weeks. This affordable option gives patients access to expert care from home while helping health systems reduce readmissions and overall healthcare costs.
“Our goal has always been to meet patients where they are,” Dr. Brehm added. “With this virtual option, that’s exactly what we’re doing—while helping health systems deliver better outcomes at lower costs.”
