NOTE: Earlier this week it was announced that Altoona Regional Health System’s 7th Avenue Campus hospital and emergency room would close near the end of March. The specific closing has been determined — 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28.

Altoona Regional Health System has completed its Facility and Service Enhancement Project, consolidating outpatient services at the Station Medical Center and adding inpatient and emergency room capacity on the Altoona Hospital Campus.

With Altoona Hospital Campus sufficiently prepared to care for our entire community, the 7th Avenue Campus emergency room and hospital will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28.

Until the closing, 7th Avenue Campus emergency room and hospital will continue to provide care as usual.

After the closing, anyone seeking emergency room care must go to Altoona Hospital Campus, 620 Howard Ave., and all hospital admissions will be to that campus.

The all-new Altoona Hospital Campus emergency room and the renovated and expanded hospital are well equipped and staffed to handle the additional patients. Altoona Hospital Campus is less than 2 miles from 7th Avenue Campus.
