The Wait is Over, Hamilton is Coming

New five-story tower will begin construction

Providence Point will officially break ground on residential living space, Hamilton Tower, the long-awaited five-story building with 70 apartments and 10 new floor plans.

Hamilton Tower, the major phase of an expansion on the Providence Point campus, slated for occupancy in the summer of 2019, will break ground on May 30 with a ceremony beginning at 10 a.m.

After several years of planning and refining, the time has come to begin the 15-month project. There are a variety of floor plans available, ranging in size from 888 sq. ft. to almost 1,900 sq. ft., to suit just about anyone’s needs. There are one and two bedroom options, one and two bath, two bedroom with den, pet-friendly and pet-free apartments.  All have a balcony or patio, and have some upgrades available, including a smart-home option.

Steward Health Care’s Sharon Regional Medical Center Sets Plans for New Outpatient Health Center in Lawrence County

The nearly 14,000 square foot center will expand access for the Lawrence County community

Sharon Regional Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, announced plans to bring a new state-of-the-art health center, the Sharon Regional Outpatient Health and Diagnostic Center, to Lawrence County.  Plans are underway to transform the former Aldi’s store, located at 2715 Wilmington Road in Neshannock Township, to offer Lawrence County residents convenient access to Sharon Regional services.

Construction is set to begin this month on phase one of the 14,000 square foot facility to include suites for diagnostic testing, a walk-in laboratory, x-ray and EKG services. In addition, the health center will house specialty physician offices, including cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, and urology.  Local residents can expect to be able to access these services by late fall of this year. Additionally, Sharon Regional is in process of finalizing plans for phase two of the project to include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, with additional specialties expected to be added.

Jefferson Hospital Announces Plans for Greatly Expanded, Renovated Emergency Department

$21 Million, State-of-the-Art Facility Features Patient-Centered Design that Will Increase Capacity and Expedite Care 

Jefferson Hospital, home to one of the busiest emergency departments in southwestern Pennsylvania, is embarking on a $21 million expansion and renovation project that will enable it to provide an enhanced level of emergency care for people in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, lower Mon Valley, and surrounding communities. Officials from Jefferson and Allegheny Health Network (AHN) shared details of the expansion plans with community leaders today.

The project, which will be completed in phases, will include a complete renovation of the existing emergency department and a significant expansion of the facility that will increase its number of treatment and observation beds to 49 from the 37 it currently houses.

“We take great pride in the outstanding emergency care that we provide to more than 50,000 patients a year at Jefferson,” said Louise Urban, President and CEO, Jefferson Hospital. “For many people in our community, the emergency department serves as their initial experience with our hospital. This significant investment in a new, state-of-the-art emergency department will ensure that patients will continue to receive the best possible care at Jefferson for generations to come.

“We are extremely grateful to the leadership of AHN and Highmark Health for their continuing support of Jefferson and their commitment to providing our patients with an ever-broadening scope of high-quality health care services close to home,” she added. “We are also deeply appreciative of the Commonwealth’s generous contribution to this project and to State Senator Guy Reschenthaler for his support of our hospital and the crucial role he played in securing $1 million in state grants for this project.” [Read more…]
