Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Nirmal Joshi, MD, FACP, has been selected as System Chief Medical Officer for the organization. With nearly 30 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Joshi joins Mount Nittany Health with an impressive physician/executive background including clinical leadership of a large healthcare system, medical staff leadership, and leadership experience in quality measures.
Dr. Joshi previously held administrative and academic positions with Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. In his academic role, he developed various new training and testing methods for medical students at Penn State. As a medical educator, he has led Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs. Recruited by Harvard Medical International (HMI), Dr. Joshi served as Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer, providing founding leadership for a large, integrated for-profit health system in Delhi, India, and helped to create two ambulatory centers of a large hospital system – with more than 400 beds – in the capital city. He was employed for 14 years with Pinnacle Health System, where he lead the internal medicine residency program and held various leadership roles in education, research and clinical informatics, most recently serving as Sr. Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer.
