The Future of Aging: Elysium Health is Revolutionizing How we Grow Old (It’s Not What You Think!)

Updated on January 11, 2019

Elysium Health is a health company working to solve the biggest challenges in health with science to help people live healthier, longer.

The company’s first product, a NAD+-boosting supplement called Basis, has been proven effective and safe as a result of a thorough clinical trial. Basis is proven to boost and maintain the coenzyme NAD+, which declines in our cells as we age.

More than 25 years of research with animals and humans have shown that nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, or NAD+, is critical to hundreds of biological processes, including maintaining healthy DNA, metabolizing energy sources, and more. As we grow older and NAD+ levels decrease, our bodies can have a tougher time performing these essential cellular jobs.

In 2017, Elysium Health published a clinical trial on Basis in the peer-reviewed publication, npj: Aging and Mechanisms of Disease, about the efficacy of their NAD+ supplement. In the placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized trial, researchers analyzed three groups of 40 women and men. One section was supplied with a placebo, while the two other groups were either given the daily recommended dosage or an extra portion of Basis — a mix of nicotinamide riboside and pterostilbene — which the body’s cells utilize to synthesize NAD+. Following a four-week period of using Basis daily, both of the groups who received a double or single dose noticed a statistically notable improvement in their NAD+ measurements. With the people who consumed the advised dosage of Basis, the normal level of NAD+ improved by an average of 40%.

As you age, it is imperative to take your health seriously. While eating a well-rounded diet and exercising are invaluable, increasing NAD+ is a transformative means to maintain proper health. Basis is designed to make that possibility a reality.
