Somnia Announces Inaugural Anesthesiologist of the Year Contest

Updated on March 28, 2013

In celebration of Doctors Day 2013, Somnia Anesthesia, an anesthesia services providers serving hospitals and outpatient facilities nationwide, has announced its inaugural Anesthesiologist of the Year contest. The content begins today, March 28, and runs until Tuesday, April 30.

With over 40,000 practicing anesthesiologists in the United States, this nationwide search is designed to honor anesthesiologists who are respected leaders at their facilities, and have consistently shown that high quality of patient care is their primary focus.  Fellow physicians, CRNAs, surgical personal or other healthcare professionals are welcome to submit their nominations for a worthy anesthesiologist.

“After the incredible response of our CRNA of the Year contests in 2012 and 2013, we felt it was only appropriate to create a program that acknowledges the exceptional service anesthesiologists provide,” says Robert C. Goldstein, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer of Somnia Anesthesia. “Across the country at facilities of all scope and size, anesthesiologists play a critical role in patient care and support. This contest is just a small token of our appreciation and support for the quality-drive, patient-centric service they provide.”

The winner, who will be selected by a panel of senior-level healthcare clinicians and administrators, will be announced on Tuesday, May 21 during a webinar co-hosted by Somnia Anesthesia and GasWork.com. The winner of this award will also receive an iPad mini.
