Dr. Hand has practiced medicine for 17 years primarily in the Lawrence County area. His areas of interest include specialized training in robotic surgery used primarily for knee replacement surgery. This advanced technology will soon be available at Sharon Regional. Additionally, Dr. Hand is trained in shoulder, knee and hip replacement surgery, hip and knee replacement revisions, general fracture surgery, sports medicine including rotator cuff, ACL, and meniscus, and hand surgery.
Dr. Hand attended medical school at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky, completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Horizon in Farrell, Pennsylvania and a residency in orthopedic surgery at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. He also completed a fellowship in total joint reconstruction/adult reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and is board certified in orthopaedic surgery.
He joins the Steward Orthopedic Specialty practice, along with James Boniface, MD. He is seeing patients at their office located at 2395 Garden Way in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. He can be reached by calling the office at 724-981-2522.
Dr. Ong joined the practice of Steward Medical Group Lawrence County Family Medicine in New Castle that include; Drs. Lawrence Fazioli and David Shober. Dr. Ong attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his family medicine residency at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Georgia. He is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Ong is accepting new patients at the Steward Lawrence County Family Medicine office located at 2520 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pennsylvania. Over the past year, Steward and Sharon Regional have recruited more than 20 physicians into the Steward network into the local market, including the recruitment of an OB/GYN, cardiothoracic surgeon, general surgeon, interventional cardiologist, orthopedic surgeon, psychiatrist, as well as nurse practitioners and physician assistants. These efforts continue to enhance services, eliminates the need for patients to travel to Pittsburgh or Cleveland for care, and provides important patient choice for those seeking health care services.
