Registration Open for Ski/Sporting Clays Fundraiser for Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh

Updated on January 9, 2014

The 30th annual Corporate Cup Charity Ski Race and Sporting Clays to benefit Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh (BVRS) will be held Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Registrations for annual fundraiser benefitting the agency that provides services to people who are blind or vision impaired are being accepted by phone to Cindy Smith, 412-368-4400, ext. 2208, or online at www.bvrspittsburgh.org.

Diann Roffe, an Olympic gold medalist in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, and a world champion ski competitor, will be featured at the Corporate Cup Charity Ski Race for both skiers and snow boarders starting at 10:00 a.m. The sporting clays event starts at 12:00 p.m.

Each ski team is comprised of three racers who ski independently on the giant slalom for the fastest time in pursuit of the Corporate Cup Trophy, a traveling award that resides yearly with the company that wins the title. Individuals may compete without a team or attend the fun day and not compete.

During an afternoon flight that includes 100 targets, shooters participate in teams of five on Seven Springs Sporting Clay course, considered one of the best sporting clay facilities in the country. The top team wins the Sporting Clays Trophy, also a traveling award that resides with the winning team for one year.
