Join Presbyterian SeniorCare Network as they host Teepa Snow, America’s Leading Alzheimer’s and Dementia Educator. If you want to learn more about Alzheimer ’s disease and other related dementias you don’t want to miss this educational event. All sessions are free and open to the public.

Healthcare professionals needing CEU credits: two hours will be offered at each session for a total of six CEU’s. You may choose to attend one, two or all three sessions.

  • 8:00am-8:30am: Registration and Breakfast (provided)
  • 8:30am-10:30am: Presentation—The Role of the Medical Advisor

o   About the presentation: Teepa Snow will provide effective strategies for screening, assessing, and treating individuals living with dementia with the least number of unintended side effects and negative outcomes. This session will help medical personnel improve the quality of care and outcomes for those living with dementia. This presentation is appropriate for family care partners as well.

  • 10:45am-12:45pm: Presentation—Baby Boomers as Care Partners

o   About the presentation: The number of Boomers living with dementia is growing.  Learn to set limits and live within them, get to know what you need, get reenergized!

  • 12:45pm-1:15pm: Lunch Break (provided)
  • 1:15pm-3:15pm: Presentation—Non-Traditional Stress Management

o   About the presentation: The session will provide care partners a chance to identify areas of strength and opportunity for improvement in how to better care for aging loved ones. Participating care partners will learn more about stress management, resources available to those affected by dementia and how to support positive outcomes.

*Each session is approved for 2 CEU Credits through the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work for LSW/LCSW, LPC and LMFT biennial license renewal These activities meet the requirements of section 21.133 for professional nurses per the PA State Board of Nursing; those sponsored by national trade organizations, associations and their affiliated state and regional groups.
