Nurses Association Donates to Monongahela Valley Hospital

Updated on June 23, 2013

During National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week, May 6-12, officers of the Mon Valley Nurses Association marked the occasion by donating $2,000 to Monongahela Valley Hospital.

The donation benefits the hospital’s $2.5 million “Focus on the Future” Capital Campaign, which began last summer to support the hospital’s $25 million construction and expansion project, the largest in MVH’s history.

The Mon Valley Nurses Association was formed in the late 1930s at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and today, its 71 members are active or retired nurses. The group supports quality nursing care and nursing education, donates equipment and money to the hospital and funds an annual nursing scholarship.

Association members raised the money for this donation to MVH and contributions to other charitable causes with its annual spring fashion show.
