The Western PA Chapter of AHRMM – Association of Healthcare Resources and Materials Management – is hosting its 2017 Healthcare Supply Chain Conference.
Current president of the Western PA AHRMM Chapter, Jackie Bechdel, CMRP, announced that registration is now open for the Healthcare Supply Chain Management Conference. Being held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Cranberry, on Friday, September 8 from 8:30 AM until 6 PM, the conference draws nearly 200 professionals in the healthcare supply chain industry.
As president of the local chapter, Ms. Bechdel oversees the planning and organization of the conference along with a team of conference committee volunteers. Ms. Bechdel is a Category Manager with Pensiamo, Inc., the pioneering cognitive supply chain company helping healthcare providers and suppliers succeed in an industry rapidly transitioning to value-based care. The mission of Pensiamo is healthcare transformation through supply chain elevation.

The conference includes topics from What’s New(s) in Health Policy and Reimbursement, to Big Data, to results of a Survey on Millennials all before lunch. Sessions on Balancing Service Costs and Quality in the Supply Chain, followed by what promises to be a lively panel discussion of the role of GPOs in a value based care world in the afternoon, the conference provides opportunities for supply chain professionals to broaden their knowledge of the industry, network with peers and reconnect with old friends around stories of best practices.
This year’s conference wraps up with a motivational closing keynote from speaker and Search & Rescue Pilot, Dave Moore. Dave Moore is a Navy and Air Force decorated aviator and officer. He survived two plane crashes, flew through three hurricanes while performing search and rescue with the Coast Guard, and has logged 39 combat missions in the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom all while having a positive mental attitude! His presentation promises to be life-transforming, energizing, and overflowing with passion for developing successful people.
