As program director, Turner will provide leadership for the creation of the new graduate program intended to equip leaders in ministry. In addition to teaching graduate-level courses, his tasks will include curriculum development and faculty cultivation. Turner will also be responsible for creating a network of local churches that will provide strategic internships for students.

Steve Winteregg, dean for the college of arts and sciences, expressed his excitement for Turner to join the program. “He has already shown that he has an infectious zeal for ministry that positively affects our students,” Winteregg said.

Turner graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1999 with a B.A. in communications and received a Doctor of Philosophy from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2012.

Serving as lead teaching pastor at Apex Community Church since 2002, Turner’s involvement at Apex will not change with his new role at Cedarville.

Turner lives in Dayton with his wife, Angela, and their four children, Rachel, Gabriel, Christopher and Chloe.
