Former Resident Accepts Position with Conemaugh Internal Medicine Clinic

Dr. Lavanya Vuppu Panghat, a graduate of Conemaugh Memorial’s Internal Medicine residency program has accepted a position at Conemaugh’s Internal Medicine Clinic.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Vuppu Panghat is a graduate of Narayana Medical College in India where she graduated at the top of her class. During her residency training at Conemaugh Memorial, Dr. Vuppu Panghat received the Excellence Award for Professionalism and Teamwork.

Dr. Vuppu Panghat says her goal is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population of patients. ”I enjoy the variety of this field,” says Dr. Vuppu Panghat. “I see patients in the Internal Medicine Clinic and also those hospitalized at Conemaugh Memorial.  I will also have the opportunity to teach through the Internal Medicine residency. I am excited about that.”

“I believe that the decision to work at Conemaugh is best for me as I know the community very well and having worked as a resident here I know the other physicians and staff,” adds Dr. Vuppu Panghat.

Dr. Vuppu Panghat is married to Dr. Sumankrishna Kotla, a hospitalist at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
