The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit, just received a lifesaving gift: over $120,000 in state-of-the-art technology for medically fragile infants. ATOM Medical USA, a leader in neonatal care products based in Wexford, PA, donated five incubators and an infant warmer from their top line of infant warming products. They will be used in the Pediatric Specialty Hospital at The Children’s Home to care for fragile babies.
“Medically fragile infants, such as those born premature, struggle to regulate their own body temperature.

As these babies grow and develop, these incubators and the infant warmer will keep them safe and sound,” said Stacy Schesler, Chief Operating Officer of The Children’s Home. Caring for some of the region’s smallest community members, The Children’s Home operates a 30-bed Pediatric Specialty Hospital for medically fragile infants and children, with supports for the family.

Designed and engineered for medically fragile infants that need to stay warm and cozy for health reasons, ATOM Medical’s infant warming products will take the hospital’s care to the next level.

“ATOM Medical’s mission is to “Save a Tiny Baby’s Life”, something we live each day for every patient, parent, caregiver and customer. When understanding the likeness in our great organizations, upgrading The Children’s Home to our state-of-the-art technology was an easy decision for ATOM,” explains Josh Kamody, President at ATOM Medical USA. While the company works with hospitals all around the world to bring the latest and the greatest in infant warming products, Josh and his employees maintain a special connection to the area.

“This is our community. These are our neighbors. Maintaining a strong continuum of care for infants and their families means the world to us. We know we’re doing just that with this gift to The Children’s Home,” Josh says.

“Caring for over 400 patients a year, our community counts on us to deliver the highest quality care possible for children. We’ve got a big job to do, and it means the world that local companies like ATOM Medical step up and offer a helping hand. We really can’t thank them enough,” Stacy says.
