The Elder Law Firm of Julian Gray Associates is pleased to announce the return of the highly rated Western Pennsylvania Healthcare Professional’s Conference to be held on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 from 7:45 AM until 4:30 PM at the DoubleTree Hotel in Green tree. This full-day program for close to 200 health care professionals will offer six continuing education credits for Nurses, Social Workers, Personal Care Home and Nursing Home Administrators and will feature a line-up of regional expert speakers to present about the latest updates and changes in the healthcare industry.

The morning will begin with Joseph Angelelli, Ph.D. Director Health Service Administration at RMU. He will be presenting “Avoidable Re-hospitalizations: From Inspiration to Sustained Practice”.

Bill McKendree, the Director of Apprise, will speak on “Healthcare Reform and the Changes to Medicare”.

Finally the morning will close out with Julian E. Gray, CELA presenting “The new VA 3-year Look Back is almost here- Are you Ready?”

The afternoon will consist of Katherine Pearson, Esquire speaking on “Pennsylvania, Families and Long- Term Care: Understanding Filial Support Laws”.

Doctor Rollin M. Wright of UPMC Division of Geriatric Medicine will co-present with Peg Chabala, Dementia Education Specialist of Asbury Heights. They will review “Improving Dementia Patient Care”.

Finally the afternoon will finish with Judith S. Black, M.D., MHA Senior Medical Director, Senior Markets Highmark, Inc. and Marian Kemp, RN, POLST Coordinator presenting “POLST – Respecting Wishes Across Care Settings”.
