Cedarville University Ranked 22nd Among the 100 Top Baccalaureate Colleges in America

Updated on October 16, 2013

Cedarville University is ranked 22nd among the 100 Top Baccalaureate Colleges in America by the Washington Monthly’s yearly college rankings.

The ratings are based on an overall score derived from the results of three categories — social mobility, research and service — and seek to measure each school’s contribution to the public good. The ratings are based on factors such as the percentage of students receiving Pell Grants, net price of attendance, amount of research expenditures, Peace Corps and ROTC rankings and others.

The rankings, which were introduced in 2005, identify which colleges are doing the most for the country as a whole, not just for individual students. Productivity and quality of teaching, as well as the attention given to students of all backgrounds, are considered when the schools are rated. These factors are weighed against tuition price to help students and parents determine if they’re getting the most for their money. This year, Cedarville University is the highest-ranked Ohio school in its category. Other regional schools listed include Defiance College, 27; Bluffton University, 31; Ohio Northern University, 37; and University of Mount Union, 38. Read more at WashingtonMonthly.com.
