As CMIO at AHN, Dr. White will lead the design and implementation of the Network’s clinical information technology strategy. Specifically, he will direct and champion the adoption by physicians of AHN’s Epic electronic health record and other technology solutions that support the delivery of well-coordinated, high-quality clinical care, enhanced patient engagement, telemedicine and population health management, among other key AHN and enterprise-level initiatives.

At the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. White has been responsible for directing EHR integration, implementation, and optimization among the organization’s many healthcare professionals and facilities.  He developed and implemented multiple system-wide initiatives in this important role that improved and expanded the use of clinical information technology at the Clinic and helped further establish its recognition as one of the country’s most technologically advanced and integrated patient-centered healthcare organizations.

Prior to his position in Cleveland, Dr. White was the Chief Medical Information Officer at OSF Healthcare System in Peoria, Illinois for six years. OSF HealthCare consists of 11 acute care facilities, two colleges of nursing and a physician network of more than 1000 primary care, specialist physicians, and advanced practice providers.

“Dr. White has an impressive track record of working effectively with executives and physicians in large, dynamic healthcare organizations to drive the implementation and adoption of clinical information technology that enables the delivery of high quality patient care,” said Tony Farah, MD, AHN’s Chief Medical Officer and President of Allegheny Clinic, AHN’s physician organization. “We are excited to welcome Robert to our leadership team and look forward to the invaluable experience and expertise he will bring to the organization as we strive to advance AHN’s information technology infrastructure and establish a single EHR that unites all of our facilities and physician practices.”
